Hello. I'm Ruby and I qualified as a yoga instructor in 2019. I have been teaching and expanding my knowledge ever since! I have taught in various settings, such as gyms, corporate environments, community centres, private sessions and an osteopath clinic. I trained under Steve Harrison who founded the Living Yoga Method and I am still training with him now; the journey never ends and I don't want to stop the ride!
I am passionate about natural health and nutrition, complementary medicine, and taking accountability for one's own health. I am very grateful to share ancient Hatha yoga wisdom, which offers us the opportunity to connect with ourselves on a profound level, to dis-identify with the mind and find a deeper connection to the world around us.
I am trained in the Living Yoga Method, which is based on traditional Hatha yoga practices, designed to connect the student back to their breath and always ending in a deep relaxation and meditation. However, having worked in so many settings, I have adapted the way I teach to suit clients in all environments. I can deliver classes ranging from exercise based yoga, suited to those who want to feel like they have worked out, to much gentler, breath-based yoga, for students who wish to explore more traditional practices. I can tailor my teaching methods to suit the client, dependent upon age, body types, fitness level, injury or physical health.
Yoga is for every body and accessible to all. I am not qualified in pregnancy yoga however, and would suggest that any woman eager to start their yoga journey once they are already pregnant should do so with an appropriately qualified instructor. I am available for private sessions, 1:2:1 or group, corporate/ office based sessions and I work in various gyms across Southampton. Please enquire for details.
I deliver mindfulness classes, currently in gym settings, which I would love to channel further. I firmly believe the way to become "mindful" is to focus the attention out of the mind and into the breath and body, and therefore in the present moment. I use yoga as a basic platform from which we expand, using gentle breath techniques, a paired back yoga flow, followed by more breathwork and a meditation to end.
This class is suitable for anyone desiring a deeper connection to themselves, without the dynamism of a full yoga or breathwork practice. It would be very beneficial for any company looking to promote well-being within the workplace.
I am a qualified breathwork instructor and I will generally incorporate basic breathing practices within all my classes. However, for people who have an interest in healing and growth through breath, I am happily able to provide a full breathwork class, suited to your level, based on ancient Hatha yoga wisdom and practices.
Breathwork has single-handedly been the most positive and transformational work I have ever engaged with on my journey, and I would highly recommend to anyone with an interest to give it a go. It's accessible to anyone, regardless of age, body type or fitness level.
I am qualified in Swedish massage and Deep Tissue massage. I can deliver massage from my own home, or travel to you for a petrol charge. Initial sessions will require a fifteen minute consultation so I can tailor the experience to your needs. Sessions can take from thirty minutes to one hour.
I am a qualified reiki level 2 practitioner. Sessions can be purchased singly or in a block with a discount and are usually thirty minutes long but can run longer if necessary.
